Gen-Z Sunglasses for Women
Y2K tints, clean-girl neutrals, streetwear black and DripDrops — trendy sunglasses for women, sorted by the look you're going for.
Gen-Z isn't an age. It's an aesthetic.
Most trendy-sunglasses edits sort by shape. Gen-Z style doesn't work that way: the same cat eye reads Y2K in a green tint and clean girl in cream. So this edit is sorted by aesthetic first — Y2K, clean girl, streetwear, main character — and then by frame.
Pick yours below and the grid narrows to the frames that do it. Or start with DripDrops, the sunglasses that come with their own drop earrings. All UV400, from Rs. 1,199.

The guide
How to choose Gen-Z sunglasses
Gen-Z style is less about one trending shape and more about picking an aesthetic and committing to it. Here is how each one translates into frames.
Aesthetic first, shape second
A frame's shape tells you very little on its own. A hexagon in gold metal with a green lens is Y2K; the same hexagon in thick brown acetate is retro. What decides the look is the combination of shape, finish and lens colour — which is exactly what an aesthetic describes.
| Aesthetic | Frames and lens | Wear it with |
|---|---|---|
| Y2K | Slim, rimless or hexagon frames; coloured and gradient lenses | Baby tees, low-rise denim, claw clips |
| Clean girl | Soft cat eye or oval in cream, butter or rose gold; brown lenses | Slick bun, linen, gold hoops |
| Streetwear | Black wayfarer, round or metal frames; solid dark lenses | Cargos, oversized tees, sneakers |
| Main character | Oversized frames, dramatic wings; dark full-coverage lenses | One plain outfit, frame leads |
| DripDrops | Frames with sculptural drop earrings attached | Hair up, no other earrings |
What makes a pair of sunglasses Y2K
Y2K frames borrow from the late 1990s and early 2000s: narrow or rimless shapes, geometric outlines and, above all, lenses you can see the colour of. Rimless and hexagon frames carry it most easily. Horizon, with its silver rimless edge and emerald gradient lens, is the clearest example in this edit.
Clean girl and old money: quiet frames
The clean-girl look is about frames that disappear into a polished outfit rather than compete with it. Cream, butter yellow and rose-gold finishes do that, and a soft cat eye or oval adds lift without drama.
Streetwear and main character: frames that lead
Streetwear frames are black, graphic and a little severe — wayfarers, rounds and metal frames. Main-character frames go the other way: oversized shapes and dramatic wings that become the outfit. Both work best with simple clothes.
DripDrops: when the sunglasses are the jewellery
DripDrops have sculptural drop earrings attached to the frame, so the drops hang from the frame, not from your ears — no piercing needed. Wear them with your hair up and skip other earrings; the frame is already doing that job.
Buy two, not one expensive pair
Aesthetics rotate faster than a classic wardrobe does. Most frames in this edit sit between Rs. 1,199 and Rs. 1,999, which is the point: one everyday pair in your main aesthetic, and one statement pair for the weekend. Then check the fit with the Frame Finder.
Less a single shape than a way of choosing: frames picked to match an aesthetic — Y2K, clean girl, streetwear or main character — rather than one classic all-rounder. This edit groups ours by aesthetic so you can shop that way.
Frames inspired by the late 1990s and early 2000s: slim or rimless shapes, hexagons, and coloured or gradient lenses. In this edit, Horizon, Azure Edge and Green Goddess are the clearest examples.
Rangrays sunglasses with sculptural drop earrings attached to the frame. The drops hang from the frame, not your ears, so no piercing is needed.
Slim frames suit oval and heart faces easily, oversized styles flatter round faces, and angular wayfarers balance soft features. The Frame Finder matches your face shape to specific frames.
This edit starts at Rs. 1,199, and most frames sit between Rs. 1,199 and Rs. 1,999. DripDrops are currently Rs. 1,499.
Both. Pick your everyday pair from the aesthetic closest to what you already wear, and a statement pair from another for weekends and events. Every frame is UV400, so the everyday pair is doing real work.
Yes. Every pair in this collection is UV400 — blocking 100% of UVA and UVB rays — and ships with a hard case and cleaning cloth, with a 7-day return window.
